A prefectural art museum located in Joyama Park adjoining Zenkoji temple. Other than holding quarterly special exhibitions, it exhibits collections consist of mainly the works of local artists and landscapes of the Shinshu area. It also has the annex named Hiagshiyama Kaii Gallery, which holds approximately 950 works by Higashiyama, including pieces titled “ Hakuba no Mori (Forest of Hakuba)” and “Midori Hibiku (Green Resonating),” both of which were donated by the artist himself. Also it houses a shop and a cafe.
