Tenkyuji Temple

On the foot of the Matsushiro Ohashi Bridge, the riverbank of Chikuma River, Tenkyuji temple was built to mourn and commemorate the death of Tenkyu Nobushige, the younger brother of Shingen Takeda, as well as of over 6,000 soldiers from both armies, who fought the fourth Battle of Kawanakajima. The Enmado Hall in front of the Main Hall houses the 5-meter tall giant statue of Enma Daiou, whose head is made of wood and body plaster. The cherry blossoms inside the precinct are also fabulous.
